  1. What do I like about Valentine’s Day?
Well, I’ve enjoyed giving flowers and/or cards and making my sweetheart feel special.
But, I can’t deny that I love the chocolate which goes on sale the next day.

  2. Before I married my husband, I liked that Valentines Day offered an opportunity to celebrate our relationship without delving into all the awkwardness of celebrating dating anniversaries. It’s easy to find dating-appropriate Valentine’s Day cards; it is extremely difficult to find dating-appropriate Anniversary Cards. It’s as though dating anniversaries inherently involve pressure on both parties to succumb to The Big M. Of course, now that I’m married, Valentine’s Day is a lot less of a big event. We still give each other cards and a token gift (usually plants), but it’s not a big, romantic day for us anymore.

  3. What I like about Valentine’s Day? It’s an opportunity for my husband and I to slow down for a moment and think about how much we love each other. Our son, our jobs, our other commitments are put aside and we’re reminded that we’re a couple and need to spend quality time together, alone. There are other times of the year when we’re also reminded of this, but the timing in the dead of winter is nice. Plus, who’d say no to a date night!? I’d never say no to a reason to get dressed up and go out someplace nice 🙂

  4. I too love the chocolate!

And please don’t enter me in the Giveaway – my TBR pile rivals yours 😉 – I just wanted to say I love the heart-book pic so much I’m stealing it! 😀

  5. Even though I do not currently have a man in my life after 24 years of marriage I can still appreciate a great love story and the one that this depicts is absolutely appropriate. Enjoy! BTW, I too love the heart book picture that I am going to use it on my next overdue list at school. Thanks!!! 🙂

  6. Valentine’s day happens to come a week after our anniversary and a week before my dear husband’s birthday…so it’s a day we spoil the kids and not one another! Everyday is Valentine’s Day for us! How’s that for both a favorite and a Love Story!
Confessions of Mr. Darcy sounds very interesting! Put my name in the hat, please!

On another note….I love your blog and would love to get to ‘know’ you better…so, Hope you don’t mind… but Tag! You’re It! Please stop back at my site for fun questions to answer and pass new ones along!

  7. I like Valentines Day because it is my aunt’s birthday. Family get’s together and celebrate. It makes it so nice for everyone.

  8. Contemporary culture has largely forgotten what it takes to carry on a lengthy romance with a partner (mine’s been going for 40 years) Marriage works if you work it! Statistics show that fewer people are getting married than ever before which is sad. Marriage is also a partnership, not a dictatorship! Valentine’s Day is a time to intentionally appreciate the significant relationship in your life by honoring them with your loving and continuing commitment. Being romantic is remembering the little but meaningful things in your lives….
